Why is it that we never dare to act purely from what we think and feel in the moment? Why is it that our world seems to be guided by unwritten rules and the judgement of others? And
what would it sound and feel like if we didn’t feel that way? On March 17 2023, The Vices released their second album ‘Unknown Affairs’ (Mattan Records), a starting point in trying to answer these thoughts. For the Vices there are no universal truths; in fact the only place where we can seek for truth is in our feelings and thoughts. The album includes previously released singles 'Strange Again', ‘Never Had To Know’, 'I Had A Name' and 'At Least That’s What They’re Saying’'.

It takes hard work for a band to appear as carefree and unbothered as Elephant does on Shooting for the Moon. After their acclaimed debut Big Thing (2022), the follow-up sees the Rotterdam based indie band confronting their own cynicism – armed with irresistible guitar licks, steadfast nonchalance, and lyrics that paint the everyday in an ever-so-slightly more magical light. The summer sun shines brightly in the faces of these four friends who have no choice but to embrace. Because for them, nothing’s more bold than being easy-going and optimistic.

Jungle by Night are seven Dutch guys who together form a live act to be reckoned with. Their seventh and latest studio album ‘Algorythm’ serves as an homage to all electronic sounds. You might call it Computer Love, if this wasn’t all analogue. This Amsterdam band consists of a lot of synths, drums, bass, guitar and percussion enhanced by a trumpet, sax and trombone. From more brass-heavy earlier albums to a stronger focus on the electronic groove on their latest, they bravely go where no band has gone before and now find themselves in the goldilocks zone between analogue dance music, funk, Krautrock, 70’s funk and 80’s electro.
